Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi’s 74th ARADHANA - 06.05.2024

In the early hours of the morning on 6th May 2024, at 4:45 am, the serene atmosphere was filled with the melodious strains of Mangala music. The Ramaneswara lingam in the samadhi shrine was adorned with vibrant, multi-colored flowers, creating a spectacle of divine beauty. The day commenced with the sacred rituals of Mahanyasa Rudra Japam, the recitation of Bhagavan’s teachings, and anointing ceremonies. Devotees gathered to offer their prayers as devotional songs filled the air, culminating in the illuminating Deeparadhana ceremony around 11 am. Following this spiritual journey, a joyous feast was served to all attendees.

The event transcended physical boundaries as it was broadcast live on YouTube, captivating an audience of over ten thousand viewers, while more than five thousand devotees graced the occasion in person.

Bhagavan's profound words echoed throughout the gathering, reminding all of his eternal presence: “They say that I am dying, but I am not going away. Where could I go? I am here.” He elucidated further in his teachings, emphasizing the essence of the Guru beyond the physical form: "You mistake the body for the Guru. But the Guru does not think so himself. He is the formless Self. That is within you; he appears without only to guide you."

As Mouni Sadhu eloquently expressed in his article on Bhagavan’s third Aradhana anniversary, the transformative power of selfless love continues to resonate. Maharishi's love, a beacon of purity and peace, remains a guiding force for all his devotees. His presence transcends time, accompanying each soul through life's final moments.
On this day of remembrance, let us reflect on Bhagavan’s profound wisdom: "The Self can be reached only by 'dying'; but (this) dying does not consist in destruction of the body; one should understand that true death is the extinction of the ideas 'I' and 'mine.'"
