Maha Kumbhabhishekam - 2025

With hearts full of gratitude and joy, Sri Ramana Ashram warmly invites all devotees, seekers, and well-wishers to a sacred celebration marking the completion of extensive renovation works at the shrines of Mātṛbhuteśvara and Sri Ramaṇeśvara Mahalingams. Over three auspicious days, the Ashram will host Vedic rites, sacred chants, and traditional worship, culminating in the Mahākumbhābhiṣekam and Dīpārādhana—a vibrant outpouring of divine grace, renewing the spiritual energy of these ancient sanctums.

These renovations, carried out in accordance with traditional śāstric principles, lovingly restored the gopurams and vimanams weathered by time, sealed the roofs against monsoon rains, and laid fresh stone upon the sanctum platform of Sri Ramaneshwara.  Such periodic renovations and kumbhābhiṣekams are not mere structural undertakings—they are vital acts of preservation and consecration. Through the decades, these ceremonies have ensured that the sanctity, spiritual potency, and architectural beauty of these hallowed shrines are safeguarded with unwavering devotion and discipline.

The first kumbhābhiṣekam in 1949, led by the renowned Vaidyanatha Sthapathi, began a sacred tradition carried forth by his descendants. In this auspicious year of 2025, his grandson Selvanatha Sthapathi will once again help uphold this timeless legacy.

Join us in the holy presence of Sri Bhagavan, beneath the gaze of Arunachala, to celebrate, consecrate, and be uplifted.

The poojas begin on August 18 and culminate with the Mahakumbhabhishekam function on August 20th 2025.

All are welcome.
